Location: Wakefield/Warrington/Birmingham/Leeds/Manchester and surrounding areas

Salary: up to £60,000 + car allowance

Working pattern: Site based with regular travel across the Midlands, Yorkshire and Northeast/West

HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for an Environmental Manager to work for one of the UK's most forward-thinking construction companies, delivering high quality projects across diverse sectors.

The role will be focused on site-based compliance checks and audits to ensure adherence to environmental legislation and company standards.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Provide hands-on practical support for environmental management across a wide range of construction projects, including residential, commercial, and large-scale industrial developments, by advising on best practices.
2. Collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to proactively identify environmental risk, develop mitigation strategies, and embed sustainable practices into project planning and execution phases.
3. Prepare comprehensive, data-driven reports detailing compliance audit outcomes, non-conformities, and actionable recommendations.
4. Act as the primary environmental liaison on-site, providing guidance to teams, resolving compliance queries, and promoting a culture of environmental accountability through training, and clear communication of best practices.
5. Monitor legislative updates and industry guidelines, analyse their operational implications, and communicate changes effectively to internal teams.

Essential Experience:

1. Proven experience in environmental management, preferably within the construction or related industries.
2. Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and its application on construction sites.
