  • Taylor Hopkinson has been retained by Vårgrønn to recruit an Offshore Wind Asset Manager to oversee construction and operating performances, financial performance, maintenance strategies, and operational efficiency and ensure maximum return on investment and sustainability. This role will be predominantly on the Dogger Bank (UK) and Balic 2 (Germany) Offshore wind farms, evolving across other offshore wind assets in the Vårgrønn portfolio.

    Vårgrønn is an agile, Norway-based offshore wind company powering the energy transition through development, construction, operation, and ownership of offshore wind assets. Vårgrønn is a joint venture between the energy company Plenitude (Eni) and the Norwegian energy entrepreneur and investor HitecVision.

    Vårgrønn holds a 20% share in Dogger Bank, the world's largest offshore windfarm under construction, and a 27.4% share in the operational Baltic 2 Offshore windfarm in the German Baltic Sea. These partnerships in particular will provide Vårgrønn with an opportunity to build operational knowledge and experience in managing offshore wind farms, complementing the existing portfolio of projects under development and construction.

    Together with Flotation Energy, Vårgrønn has been awarded exclusivity to develop the two floating offshore wind projects Green Volt and Cenos in Scotland with a combined capacity of up to 1.9 GW. Green Volt is on track to become Europe's first commercial scale floating offshore wind farm.

    The role:
    • Propose, develop and implement financial strategies to optimize the economic performance of the wind farm(s).
    • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to ensure profitability and cost-efficiency.
    Operational Oversight
    • Monitor daily operations of the wind farm in collaboration with O&M function or responsible JV partner.
    • Ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
    • This could include also monitoring of construction performances for non-operated asset still in construction phase.
    Data Analysis
    • Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to enhance asset performance and inform decision-making.
    JV Partners Management
    • Liaise with JV partners including wind farm operator.
    • Monitor respect of internal governance principles and Company interest in the partnership.
    • Participate in JV meetings.
    Stakeholder Management
    • Liaise with key stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and local communities.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on the wind farm's performance and address any concerns or queries.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the operation and maintenance of the wind farm.
    • Develop contingency plans to address potential issues and ensure business continuity.
    Contract Management
    • Oversee contracts with service providers, suppliers, and other third parties.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and negotiate terms that benefit the Company interests.
    Sustainability Initiatives
    • Identify and promote sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of the wind farm.
    • Monitor adherence to environmental regulations and industry best practices.
    Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure that the wind farm operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
    • Keep abreast of changes in legislation and ensure that the wind farm adapts accordingly.
    Reporting
    • Prepare and present detailed reports on the wind farm's performance, including financial results, operational metrics, and maintenance activities.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
    Requirements:
    • Degree qualified in a relevant field; however, relevant industry experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
    • Experience in asset management, preferably within the renewable energy sector and offshore wind.
    • Strong understanding of wind farm operations, maintenance practices, and financial management.
    • Proficiency in data analysis.
    • Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including technical teams, investors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
