    YOUR ROLE

    Our HSEQ team based in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, have a rare opportunity for a meticulous and experienced Environmental Manager where you will drive and develop our UK, Ireland and Nordic environmental strategy, defining clear performance objectives aligned to our global agenda.

    Not only will this role see you leading critical environmental initiatives and innovations, but you will also be the UK, Ireland and Nordic CSR ambassador, therefore we require an individual who has a proven portfolio of driving and delivering environmental and CSR strategies.

    WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

    Reporting into the Head of HSEQ, you will manage all aspects of environment and energy management related to pollution and statutory nuisance control, waste management, environmental health, and regulatory management where you will collate, audit, and analyse data through defined reporting mechanisms and systems. With a focus on continuous improvements, where you will lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices with a focus on waste reduction, carbon emissions, and energy usage initiatives ensuring regulatory and legal compliance.

    You will liaise with internal stakeholder groups identifying and supporting key initiatives driving improvements and providing expertise to the Head of HSEQ and our customers on changing agendas, environmental efficiencies and legal compliance. You will collaborate with the wider HSEQ team mentoring our HSE Support Partners in raising awareness and standards to achieve organisational targets and promote successes. You will also develop and deliver training content for in-house HSEQ training, liaising with internal functions to ensure a consistent approach in both managerial and operational training.

    You will liaise with relevant external bodies such as local authorities, public and governmental bodies keeping up to date with external initiatives and trends enabling you to research and influence the direction of the organisation acting as the UK lead with the Global HSEQ communities on initiatives and innovations, ISO14001 certification and regulatory bodies related to environmental compliance and government initiatives.

    This role will see you leading one individual therefore you will create, sustain, and embed a culture of employee engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement, generating strong succession planning through effective coaching, training, and development opportunities.

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
    • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
    • Experienced in developing Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001).
    • Significant experience in developing environmental and CSR strategies.
    • Experienced in defining challenging metrics to drive improvements in performance and meet operational objectives.
    • Practiced in creating improvement campaigns and training materials.
    • Proven EMS internal auditing experience.
    • Strong statistical analysis and reporting skills.
    • Comprehensive working knowledge of ISO14001 management processes, principles and methodologies.
    • Experienced in leading a team.
    • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
    • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
    • Collaborator, able to build excellent internal working relationships.
    • Charter Member of IEMA.
    • Experience in developing Energy Management Systems (ISO50001).
    • Advanced MS Excel Skills.

    This role may require occasional travel to operations across the UK, Ireland and Nordics, therefore we do require an individual who has a flexible approach to working location.

    Salary Up to £70,000 per annum + Car/Car Allowance, Bonus & Package.
