Installation Engineer Overview
We are currently working with one of the UK s primary developers, installers and operators of Clean Heat Networks or Ground Source Heat Pump Networks. They are currently seeking an Installation Engineer to join the team, assisting with installation work on their projects mostly throughout the South of England. As a Junior Installation Engineer, your time will be split between multiple projects. The company use their network of dedicated Sub-Contractors for most projects, your role will be to attend projects and assist these teams when there is delays, difficult elements of the project which require your expertise and filling in to support where needed. You will work with a Senior Engineer who you will work with to develop your knowledge.
The projects include Heat Pump Networks with Pumping Station (providing low cost, low-carbon, ground source heating infrastructure for housing developers). Others are standalone Ground Source Heat Pump systems for large commercial premises and multi occupancy properties such as tower blocks which have a central plant room power the building, with a HIU in each individual property.
You will be installing large diameter pipework, Heat Pumps, Heat Interface Units, fusion weld pipework, pre-insulted pipework and more. Your role will also include the installation of basic electrical work to various parts of the heat pump systems and fixing any problems that may arise. Duties include:
A large part of this role will involve installing pipework with trenches a meter below ground level at all times of the year, consideration must be taken in this regard. Many projects will be commutable but there will be times where you will stay away for a couple of nights at a time, on average, you could expect this to be 1 week of every month.
