  • Project Development Manager required to join a successful European IPP and lead the realisation of their multi-GW pipeline of onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Germany.


    The role would suit an experienced project development professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to work with greater creative freedom within a collaborative and fast-growing development team.


    This role can be based out of Munich or Berlin (Hybrid).


    Role

    • Lead a team of project managers responsible for the development of onshore wind, solar, and battery projects, across Germany from site selection through to construction.
    • Work closely with land acquisition teams to acquire land for wind and solar generation projects.
    • Prepare planning and licensing requirements and act as an intermediary in the planning approval process.
    • Commission and manage external technical support in relation environmental assessment. project design, due diligence, access, wind resource assessment, and grid connection strategies.
    • Engage with and build trusted relationships with landowners, tenants, local authorities, municipalities, statutory consultees and other key stakeholders.
    • Initiate the planning approval process with relevant authorities and monitor the official approval procedure (BimSchG).
    • Participate in selected project-specific information events and municipal council meetings as required.
    • Develop and implement an effective community engagement plan that will bring benefits for the municipality during and after the construction of the project.
    • Manage all project budgets and risks using appropriate tools and contracts.


    Requirements

    • Degree in relevant subject area (e.g. geography, renewable energy, surveying, economics).
    • Demonstrable experience developing renewable energy projects through the planning process, ideally with a developer or owner operator.
    • Sound understanding of the commercial, environmental, and regulatory opportunities and challenges facing renewable energy development in Germany and beyond.
    • Good understanding of local and national planning system and regulations.
    • Track record of effective engagement with planning authorities, municipalities, landowners, communities, project contractors, external consultants and development partners.
    • Entrepreneurial and ambitious with ability to work independently and across multiple projects.
    • Driver's license and willingness to travel within selected regions of Germany.
