Planning Manager - Renewable Energy Development
London office base
Salary dependent on candidate experience: 55,000 - 65,000
Piper Maddox have partnered with a leading developer of utility scale renewable energy projects to build out their UK based team. Our client are at the forefront of the clean energy market and have plans in place to transition into an IPP model to build out their existing project portfolio. They focus on Solar, Battery Storage, and Onshore Wind projects across England, Wales, and Scotland.
The current team includes in-house capabilities across: Land, Planning, Project Development, Design Engineering, Grid Engineering, as well as Legal Counsel. You would be joining a highly collaborative and innovative team, who have a strong culture of working together to a common goal. This company is based in London in a great location where they operate a hybrid working system.
You would be contributing to a 4GW development pipeline in various stages and this role is crucial to securing the progression of these projects into the ready to build stage. They are looking to add a Planning Manager to their growing team in 2025 to help with achieving consents across their portfolio. With a number of their projects approaching planning submission and preparation, this role would have a high level of project ownership.
Experience needed for this role includes:
Experience in handling the full planning submission process for renewable energy projects - preparing planning documents, reviewing planning statements, potentially handling planning appeals.
Track record in representing company interests at public planning consultation events, handling local planning authorities, as well as managing local and national stakeholders throughout the planning process.
5 Years of experience in securing consents for renewable energy TCPA schemes. NSIP experience would be useful as well.
This role would involve a mixture of hands-on project experience as well as mentoring junior members of the planning & development team. Therefore, it would be a strong fit for someone working within a fellow developer of renewable energy looking for a step up in responsibility, or experienced Planners within a consultancy environment who have experience in renewable energy.
