Senior Development Manager - Remote Working
Utility Scale Renewable Energy (TCPA and DCO Applications)
Salary Depending on Experience: 75,000 - 85,000
Piper Maddox are partnered with a hugely exciting renewable energy developer to add a crucial hire to their team. Having been a constant presence in the space for over 10 years, this company has taken some huge strides forward this year and show no signs of slowing down into 2025!
Starting life as a comparatively small Wind Energy developer, our client has recently signed a hugely exciting joint venture with one of the top Pan-European developers of renewable energy. They have been tasked with handling their JV partner's pipeline of utility scale Solar and BESS across England.
With this in mind, you would have the unique balance of taking on a role with a high level of autonomy in the day-to-day workings of the role, but with the added security of a global industry player in the background when it comes to operations and funding.
You would be joining up with a business founded by three business partners who have a wealth of renewable energy experience that they are looking to add to with the hire of a Senior Development Manager - preferably from a planning background.
Their current pipeline sits close to 2GW and this is split between Nationally Significant scale DCO applications as well as TCPA projects ranging from 30MW up to around 100MW. This role will be crucial to ensuring these projects receive consent and progress to the next stage of development.
Your role as a Senior Development Manager would include:
The management of the planning application - extensive document review, public consultation, and planning submission.
Management of external consultants across EIA, Planning, Grid, and the overall Development process.
Liaison with the current team on the technical front, ensuring projects remain viable throughout the development lifecycle.
This role would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced development manager or planner, who is looking to take more of a lead on renewable energy projects.
You would have the opportunity to handle NSIPs as well as having access to strong career progression when the team grows. Our client see this position taking up the Head of Development mantle alongside team/pipeline growth.
