Our client, a prominent entity in the rail sector, is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Manager for a contract position. This 6-month role, inside IR35, has the potential to become permanent after the initial period.

• Provide specialist environmental advice, becoming the focal point for knowledge, technical compliance, and competence matters, ensuring commitments and obligations are met.
• Undertake environmental performance monitoring, analysis, and evaluation, creating reports and making recommendations to business leaders for continual improvement.
• Identify environmental risks and opportunities, understanding how activities interact with the environment, and determining effective control measures to mitigate significant impacts.
• Support leaders and operational teams in reducing the environmental impact of operations, promoting a collaborative approach with environmental, carbon, and sustainability professionals, including clients and partners.
• Lead environmental incident investigations, producing reports and lessons learned to assist in implementing identified improvements.

• Experience in providing specialist environmental advice and technical compliance.
• Skilled in environmental performance monitoring, analysis, and evaluation.
• Proficiency in identifying environmental risks and implementing control measures.
• Ability to support and collaborate with leaders and teams to reduce environmental impact.
• Experience in leading incident investigations and producing detailed reports.
• Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices within the rail sector.
